JOURNEY AROUND THE 2ND HALF OF EARLY SUMMER

"EASE INTO THE SUMMER MONTHS WITH MINDFUL MOVEMENTS"

The Early Summer Zoom program is about finding our baseline, taking inventory of our whole body, mind, and spirit, and discerning what we need to train and self-protect to live the rest of our lives as older adults. Based on that information, you can then initiate a summer program that incorporates more activities. The longer days of sunlight encourage us to spend more time outside. It's a great time of year to build a structure that can help you feel strong, flexible, and inspired.

The beauty of this qigong/tai chi practice is that it offers an all-inclusive, holistic approach to maintaining our lives. It's a natural road map to follow. Each season brings a new message on how to manage our health. Each season propels us to the next, giving us the wind behind the sail to achieve long-lasting health. Much of this practice involves learning how to observe, contemplate, feel, and find balance within your system.

During this four-week session, I will focus on Qigong movements that awaken all your systems, release stagnation and toxins, and promote a sense of well-being. This will allow the flow of energy to revitalize your entire system. From that flow, I transition into Tai Chi movements that enable mindful movement, regulate your nervous system, increase strength and flexibility, and enhance balance, focus, and concentration. The slower tempo of this practice allows for careful attention to posture, alignment, and weight transfer, reducing the risk of injury. I conclude with a ten-minute guided meditation that brings this class to a close, leaving you with a sense of calm and relaxation. This comprehensive self-care routine is designed to promote optimal health and longevity.

You will also receive a recording of the entire class, as well as a 15-minute recording of a shorter version of the key topic. Both can be practiced to fit your needs and keep your practice active.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • The first 10 minutes describe what the class will focus on, along with setting your intention for what you need from the practice.
  • Thirty to forty minutes of movements include a warm-up, gentle healing, and seasonal and functional Qigong movements to energize all your systems.
  • Ten minutes of a Taichi flow, connecting your whole self and creating harmony.
  • Brief meditation and intention to move into the next moment of your day.
  • I allow time for questions and comments to further explain the practice.
  • You will receive the complete recordings of Wednesday's session to practice independently.

ABOUT DEBBIE

Debbie Belaus is an online certified Qigong teacher specializing in the older population. She founded Qigong With Debbie, a culmination of over forty years in the healing arts as a yoga and meditation teacher, massage therapist, and wellness studio owner for ten years. Debbie's journey as an older woman in her late sixties opened her to the practice of Qigong. This energy-based protocol focuses on movements that are more conducive to helping a body repair what was damaged and restoring vitality lost over the years. The practice of Qigong can help you be your best healer as you approach your wisest years.
