"Let it Go, and Let it Flow"
Simple seasonal practices are a beautiful way to weave more intention and wellness into your life. We are now in the middle of the Fall season. The transition from the warmer summer months marks the beginning of the yin half of the year's cycle when nature's energy begins to descend and contract. Temperatures fall, leaves drop, and days shorten. For many, this is the most challenging season. This transition to autumn provides more space and more time to breathe. It invites reflection and contemplation. It's a reminder to settle down, but it also can be a time to let go, which can bring a bit of grief. The element that represents this season is Metal. Metal manifests as the essential minerals and trace minerals for our bodies. Metal also cuts away. These metaphors help us recognize ourselves as co-existing with the natural world. The message for this time of year is to let go of the deeper parts of yourself and find all your hidden treasures. It eliminates anything that does not serve you and enables you to do something more positive and new. The two organs we focus on for the Fall are our lungs and large intestines, which are the organs that eliminate waste. So, we reflect on all the aspects of this season and connect the natural dots to self-exploration. How we resonate with Metal qualities will shape how the Element is structured in our physical form.
The movements will focus on keeping our lungs clear and our immune system robust for this change in weather. We will activate, stimulate, circulate, let go, and get to the open flow of our entire body, mind, and energy systems. Letting go becomes the metaphor for growth and stability as we prepare for the winter months ahead.
I'll share more resources to support you during this transformation time of year. This Zoom online class is offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I limit this class to fifteen students. It is more in-depth teaching and community-based, so I open the course 10 minutes before and after for open dialogue. Qigong is a well-rounded practice, so I will share more in-depth self-care practices for the Spring Season and what they offer for your body, mind, and spirit.
Once registered, more online information will be sent.
